Wonderful anecdote. Never seen the film or read the book, though I’ve heard of both. Must remedy that now.

I love how he did that with your name. I do that with a lot of the characters in the stories I write. I use names of people I went to school with, and guys I worked with, and friends as well. It's great when they come across their name and realize it's them -- not them as a character, just their names. It makes them more attentive.

Brilliant move by Minghella inserting the Logue surname into the film script. That subtle gesture speaks volumes about how creative bonds can outweigh transactional career momments. The irony isnt lost that a story abut identity theft became a vehicle for honoring someone's actual identity, especially when most industry relationships are kinda surface-level networking. Those hour-long conversations on stoops end up mattering more than the roles themselves.
